We are very excited to share the news about this year’s book fair results:
Our cash profit from this year’s fair totaled just over $3000; however, the most exciting part is that we profited $4600 if you include books we are getting for the school! This means almost $1600 is being spent by the PTA on teachers’ classrooms and the library — and that doesn’t even include wish-list books that were purchased at the fair for teachers by families!
Another thing to note is that we almost DOUBLED our French book sales from last year. The book fair committee really worked hard in the months before the fair to add an additional vendor and to craft a book selection that really fit the curriculum, the teachers’ needs, and FI parents’ wishes. The increase in profit here went to buying an extra $525 in French books for our library.
I think we succeeded in reaching our #1 goal for the fair, which was getting more books into the hands of students. Our #2 goal was fundraising, which we increased from last year also. Good job, Maryvale!
We couldn’t have done this without all of the many volunteers that helped at the fair, families that donated used books, or the many families that visited the fair and bought books. Thanks!
